Inorganic synthesis, catalysis
Denis Kuznetsov obtained a Master degree in chemistry in 2010 at Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology (Russia). He then joined the group of Dr. Tamara Bazhenova at the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics (Russian Academy of Sciences, Chernogolovka) to develop synthetic approaches to molybdenum alkoxide complexes for N2 reduction; this work earned Denis a PhD degree from the Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2015. After two years stay as an independent researcher in the same lab, he moved to Massachusetts Institute of Technology to become a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Yang Shao-Horn (2017-2018), focusing on the area of electrocatalysis. Since September 2018 he has been a postdoctoral research fellow at ETH Zürich (Laboratory of Energy Science and Engineering), where his studies revolve around the synthesis of different material families and their applications in (photo)electro- and heterogeneous catalysis.
