Additional information

Marcel Janák studied Physical Engineering and Nanotechnology at the Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), where he received his bachelor's (2019) and master's (2021) degrees. Working under the supervision of Dr. Petr Bábor, Marcel’s projects dealt with calibration of secondary-ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) method by implantation profiles (bachelor thesis) and with semiconductor diagnostics and monitoring of chemical reactions by SIMS (master thesis). In 2020, Marcel spent six months at the Uppsala University (Sweden) via Erasmus+ program, working in the Ion Physics Group of Prof. Dr. Daniel Primetzhofer. In September 2021, Marcel joined the Laboratory of Energy Science and Engineering at ETH Zurich as a PhD student. His current research is focused on developing catalysts for the dry reforming of methane and characterization of those catalysts by in-situ electron microscopy.
