Additional information

Angelo Bellia (1995) is native of Palermo, Italy. He has received a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Palermo in 2017 and a MSc in Material Science from the University of Turin in 2019. Angelo’s Master thesis work, performed in the group of Prof. Silvia Bordiga, has focused on the understanding of the pre-reduction step of Cu-Zeolites active in methane-to-methanol conversion. As a part of the thesis, Angelo worked at the University of Oslo (Erasmus Traineeship) under the supervision of Prof. Stian Svelle, where he dealt with the synthesis and catalytic tests of Cu-Mordenite. Angelo’s bachelor thesis project was devoted to the synthesis and basic XAS characterization (at ESRF) of metal-alkyl-phosphates for rechargeable Lithium ion batteries, performed under the supervision of Prof. Vincenzo Turco Liveri. Angelo has joined the Laboratory of Energy Science and Engineering at ETH Zurich as a PhD student in January 2021 and he is currently working on the synthesis and operando X-ray characterization of Pd-based catalyst for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol.
