Evgenia Kountoupi

Evgenia Kountoupi graduated from the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) in 2019 with a Master Degree in Chemical Engineering. She performed her diploma thesis work in the Computational Material Science and Engineering Group (CoMSE Group) under the supervision of Professor Doros N. Theodorou. Her research area was multiscale modeling of binary liquid mixtures (water/alkane and water/polyoxyethylene alkyl ether mixtures) using Molecular Dynamics, with a particular interest in validating the performance of a specific coarse-grained model (Martini Forcefield). Evgenia has gained industrial professional experience in the consumer goods sector. She did an internship on Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety in the Engineering Department of Colgate-Palmolive (Athens Plant), where she was later employed as a Production and Materials Planner. She has also worked as a consultant for the plant-maintenance processes of SAP software. Evgenia started her PhD at the Laboratory for Energy Science and Engineering of ETH Zürich on March 2020 and is working on structure-activity studies, synthesis and catalytic applications, such as syngas conversion processes, of 2D Carbides (MXenes).
